San Francisco plunged into fiery red skies due to California fires

San Francisco woke up on Wednesday to a dark orange sky. The reason: smoke from the fires that ravage 56,000 hectares of the Fresno area, in northern California. As the smoke becomes more dense in some areas, it blocks sunlight.

The mixture of fog and smoke gave the city an end-of-the-world feel, as if the sun hadn’t risen all day. As a result, in the streets of San Francisco, at midday, cars were driving headlights on. As the smoke blocks the sun’s rays, the atmosphere does not warm up normally. The ambient temperature of San Francisco does not exceed 16 ° C. On the pollution side, the authorities are advising vulnerable people not to go out because of the poor air quality.
