Liverpool wins Club World Cup for the first time

This is a first for Liverpool. The English club won the Club World Cup against Flamengo in Doha (Qatar) on Saturday December 21. The European champions, beaten three times in the final of this competition, clinched their first world title in pain thanks to a late goal by Firmino at the 99e minute. The Brazilian striker had already scored in the club’s victory over Monterrey in the semi-finals.

Winners of the Champions League, the European Super Cup and current leader of the English Championship, the men of Jürgen Klopp thus conclude against the Brazilian club a superb year 2019. A victory which also allows them to obtain revenge, 38 years after their 3-0 loss to the Brazilian players.
