Boris Johnson presents his deconfinement plan for the UK, which will start on December 2

The containment established at the end of October in the United Kingdom to fight the Covid-19 epidemic will be lifted on December 2, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday (November 23) in the House of Commons.

General confinement will be replaced by territorialized measures: ” I’m sorry to say that we expect more regions to move, at least temporarily, to levels [d’alerte sanitaire] higher than before ”, he added.

The Prime Minister announced a limited return of the public to stadiums in areas of England least affected by the pandemic. According to the government, the stadiums will be able to accommodate up to 50% of their capacity, with a limit set at 2,000 or 4,000 spectators depending on local restrictions in place.
