Israel bombs Gaza Strip after incendiary balloon launches

Israeli planes hit Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, February 5, in response to projectile fire and incendiary balloon fire into Israeli territory.

Before the strikes, militiamen launched three missiles from Gaza and a number of "Explosive balloons" to southern Israel, said the Israeli military.

No information on possible victims in the Gaza Strip has been given. Neither medical sources nor the police have reported casualties or damage on the Israeli side.

Donald Trump's peace plan

Since the announcement last week by US President Donald Trump of his plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, rockets and mortar shells have been fired and explosive balloons launched almost daily from the Gaza Strip to Israeli territory, resulting in Israeli army responses.

The Palestinians categorically reject the American plan, which they see as favoring Israel.
