Accused, Monday 1er February, of harassment and rape by several women, including American actress Evan Rachel Wood, singer Marilyn Manson refuted these allegations, citing accepted relationships.
“My intimate relationships have always been fully consented, with partners in agreement”, wrote the American musician on his Instagram account early Monday evening. “No matter how or why others today choose to distort the past, it’s the truth”, he added.
Brian Warner, whose real name is, had been suspected for several years of being the assailant that Evan Rachel Wood denounced in 2018 during a hearing on sexual assault before Congress, without revealing his identity. In her message published on Monday, the actress of the films Thirteen and Whatever works reveals that his attacker is indeed the American singer. In Congress, she had notably claimed to have been raped on several occasions.
Evan Rachel Wood, 33, claimed on Monday that the singer has “Psychologically manipulated” when she was not yet 20 years old. She says she was then submitted “To horrible abuse over the years”. The actress, noticed in the series Westworld, was officially in a relationship with Marilyn Manson for several years, before their engagement in 2010, which broke up a few months later.
Four other women, who say they each had a romantic relationship with him, accused Monday, on their Instagram account, the artist of manipulation, harassment, mistreatment and threats. One of them, whose relationship began in 2015, also mentions several rapes.
“Spray” the skull
Now 52 years old, Marilyn Manson has created a disturbing public figure, of Gothic inspiration, made up, wearing two different lenses, with jet-black hair. The very name of what was initially a group but now comes down to its person is inspired by actress Marilyn Monroe and guru Charles Manson, who provoked the murder of actress Sharon Tate.
His musical universe combines rock metal with a taste for spectacular and provocative staging, mixing satanist and gothic imagery. Two of his albums reached number one in sales in the United States.
The women who testified on Monday, many of whom are former groupies, portray a character who is both seductive and manipulative, able to tie them up, threaten them with death or force them to take drugs. In an interview with the Spin magazine site in 2009, Marilyn Manson explained having “Every day the fantasy of spraying” Evan Rachel Wood’s skull “With a hammer”.
In her message posted Monday, Marilyn Manson refutes the facts with which she is accused today:

The record company ends its collaboration
Several of the alleged victims claim to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. “I am done living in fear of reprisals, slander and blackmail. I want to reveal who this dangerous man really is, wrote Evan Rachel Wood, and denounce the many industries that let him do it, before he ruins other lives. “
A few hours after the publication of this message, Marilyn Manson’s record company, Loma Vista Recordings, indicated that“In the light [de ces] disturbing allegations ”, she would no longer collaborate with the singer.
“I support Evan Rachel Wood and the other brave women who testified”, commented on Twitter, Rose McGowan, herself a former fiancée of Marilyn Manson at the turn of the 2000s.

Rose McGowan is also one of the first to testify openly against film producer Harvey Weinstein, leading to his downfall and the birth of the #metoo movement. “Let the truth come out, she wrote. Let the healing begin. ” The musician is not yet officially the subject of any criminal prosecution.
