UEFA announced Tuesday, October 15, the opening of a disciplinary investigation against Turkey on a potential "Political provocation" as a result of the military salutes made by his players against Albania and France.

The day before, the players of the Turkish team had made this move after having equalized against the Blues at the Stade de France, then at the end of the match which ended on the draw of 1-1 and allows Turkey to retain the lead of Group H.

This sign is seen as a support for the military taking part in Ankara's offensive against a Kurdish militia in Syria and provoked outrage in France. Several politicians had called for the cancellation of the match after similar events in the match against Albania last week.

French sports minister Roxana Maracineanu has called on UEFA to take "An exemplary sanction".
