The defensive midfielder of FC Porto and the Portuguese selection Danilo Pereira signed with Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG) on Monday, October 5, on loan with option to buy.

The 29-year-old player is expected in the capital during the day, for the last hours of the transfer window which ends Monday at midnight. Danilo Pereira arrives on a season-long paid loan, with a call option estimated at € 16million according to Sky and RMC.

It is a reinforcement of weight for the coach Thomas Tuchel, who thus reinforces his midfielder of a player with the profile of pure recuperator, which the German coach did not have until then, unless to play the defender and Captain Marquinhos in the middle.

Danilo has been playing for FC Porto since 2015, where he was captain of the Portuguese champion team. He has 39 caps with the Portuguese European champions, for two goals. “Joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the world is an achievement in my career”, he reacted on the site of PSG, finalist of the Champions League in August.

His recruitment is in addition to that of Italian striker Moise Kean (20, Everton), announced Sunday by the Parisian club, for a loan which is not, him, not accompanied by a purchase option. As well as those of side Alessandro Florenzi, third goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier and striker Mauro Icardi, already present last season on loan and whose purchase option has been validated.

These arrivals should make it possible to respond to recent concerns expressed by coach Thomas Tuchel: the latter had said Thursday to wait for a reinforcement by line under penalty of reviewing ” on the decline “ ambitions in the Champions League. A stroke of blood which gave rise to a cropping the day after the sports director, Leonardo, who “Did not appreciate, like the club”, these words.
