Morocco and Guinea qualified for the semi-finals

By winning easily against Zambia on Sunday January 31, Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship.

Morocco, winner of Zambia 3 to 1, and Guinea victorious of Rwanda 1 to 0, qualified, Sunday, January 31, for the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) organized in Cameroon. The two teams join Cameroon and Mali who have ensured their presence the day before in the last four of this competition reserved for players playing in their local championships.

In Douala, defending champion Morocco did not have to force its talent to rule out a Zambian team reduced to 10 players in the 20e minute. The Atlas Lions made the match easier by opening the scoring in the first minute thanks to Soufiane Rahimi. Then, Mohammed Ali Bemmamer made the break (20e) before Ayoub El-Kaabi, from the penalty spot, added to the bill 5 minutes from the break. The Zambians saved the honor thanks to Moses Phiri (80e).

Guineans will face Mali

The last quarter-final which was disputed in Limbé, a city located 300 km from the capital Yaoundé, ended in the narrow victory of Guinea. The Guineans, long outnumbered after the early exclusion of Mouri Kanté (11e) held high in Rwanda.

Trade subsequently rebalanced after Rwanda found itself at 10 shortly after the rest. It was playmaker Morlaye Sylla who, on a free kick, sent the national Syli to the semi-final against his Malian neighbor who won the day before the Congo.

For its part, Morocco will challenge the Cameroonian host country on Wednesday, in a superb poster that looks like a final before the letter.
