FRANCE 2 – SATURDAY 1st FROM 3:05 p.m. – RUGBY

Effective since the end of the Rugby World Cup in Japan, in November 2019, the appointment of Fabien Galthié as head of the XV of France and Raphaël Ibanez as general manager ended fifteen years of collaboration with France Télévisions . Fifteen years during which the ex-captain of the national team became a TV consultant, alongside Jean Abeilhou and then Matthieu Lartot. Fifteen years during which he had the heavy privilege of succeeding mythical duets, such as Thierry Lacroix-Pierre Salviac, Pierre Albaladejo-Pierre Salviac, Pierre Albaladejo-Roger Couderc… The departure of the Galthié-Ibanez couple left the flagship competition of the 'Voiceless Ovalie… As the Six Nations Tournament, historically broadcast by France Televisions, begins this weekend – since the time when it was called the ORTF! – the audiovisual group has therefore also recruited and presented the next generation.

Following the logic of coach Galthié, who obtained a team of 42 players and a staff of 20 people, France Télévisions reveals a new team: experienced consultants Jérôme Cazalbou and Dimitri Yachvili, former TF1 player, Vincent Clerc, who worked for Canal , as well as Benjamin Kayser, who will be a consultant for the under-20 tournament, and Laura Di Muzio, a former international and consultant for the women's tournament.
A rejuvenated team, like the players of the XV of France. This band of five joins Matthieu Lartot and Laurent Bellet for the men's tournament; Jean Abeilhou and Inès Hirigoyen for the feminine; and Hélène Macurdy and Raphaëlle Talbot for the U20s.
Everyone knows they are expected, from Saturday, February 1, but especially from Sunday 2, the day when France enters the running against England for a crunch both for women and men. For the men's match, Lartot and Yachvili will meet Cécile Grès, at the microphone on the edge of the lawn. On the screen as on the ground, the sauce will only take on condition of "winning games, quickly," warned Fabien Galthié. More pragmatic or more dreamy, Cécile Grès hopes above all to "find a happy French team, failing to win, a fulfilled team that works well, with new staff and stories to tell".
