A pair of Air Jordan 1 sold for $ 615,000, a record

Almost three months after a first peak reached by a similar model, the sale breaks the record for the most expensive athletic shoes in history. On Thursday, August 13, a pair of Air Jordan 1s sold at auction for $ 615,000, Christie’s announced.

These shoes, which take up the red and white trim as well as the black “swoosh” (the comma of Nike) of the famous Air Jordan 1 Chicago model, were worn during a disputed friendly match on August 25, 1985 in Trieste, in Italy.
