Joe Biden’s victory certified in Wisconsin and Arizona

Counting the votes in Maricopa County, Arizona on November 9.

The key states of Arizona and Wisconsin officially certified, Monday, November 30, the victory of Joe Biden in the American presidential election, further cementing the success of the Democrat against Donald Trump, who has still not conceded his defeat .

“Today we signed the certification for the 2020 election in Arizona”, at tweeted Doug Ducey, the Republican governor of this state who has switched to the Democratic camp for the first time in nearly twenty-five years.

Chief Electoral Officer Arizona Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs hailed an election “Conducted with transparency, precision and fairness (…), despite the many unfounded allegations which claimed the contrary ”.

Later that day, the Governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, announced to have, too, certified the results of the poll in his state which voted for Joe Biden, after helping elect Donald Trump in 2016.

Not the end of recourse

Arizona also certified the victory of Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly so that he “Can take the oath as quickly as possible”, underlined Mr. Ducey.

The certification of results does not necessarily sign the end of recourse to the courts, Arizona for example allowing the results to be contested even after they have been validated.

Mr. Trump’s campaign team has in fact tried – without success so far – to obstruct the process of certification of results in key states won by Mr. Biden with legal remedies.
