In Mayfield, a village of 10,000 inhabitants located at the epicenter of the disaster, the heart of the city resembles “To a pile of matches”, Mayor Kathy O’Nan said on CNN.
“It’s as if a bomb had exploded in our neighborhood”, told Agence France-Presse Alex Goodman, a resident of Mayfield.
