Hundreds of people took part in a ceremony in Minneapolis (Minnesota) on Thursday, June 4, in tribute to George Floyd, the African-American whose death, on May 25, after his arrest by the police triggered large demonstrations interspersed with violence. and awakened the debate on racial issues in the United States. Tributes are expected to last six days, with a funeral scheduled for Tuesday.

At the same time, demonstrations were again held across the country to demand justice and an end to racial discrimination. On the tenth day of protest, the atmosphere was generally peaceful and collected. Thousands of people of all origins marched through the streets of New York as well as in Washington, Seattle and Los Angeles, three cities where the curfew was lifted.

Another tribute was held in New York, at the Cadman Plaza, in the Brooklyn district, in the presence of the brother of George Floyd, the New York mayor Bill de Blasio - booed by the demonstrators -, local politicians and civic leaders and religious. Some 10,000 people attended.
