Liz Truss apologizes but refuses to resign

Rarely has a tenant at 10 Downing Street had such a complicated start to their term of office as Liz Truss, who came to power in the United Kingdom on September 5th. Her program has been heavily criticized, as the measures she put in place have led to an unprecedented political and economic crisis.

In an interview with the BBC on October 17, the British head of government apologized several times, but refused to resign. “I have corrected these errors”, she repeated, insisting in particular on the appointment of a new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt. She claimed to be focused on ” the action “ which it intended to carry out in order to come to the aid of the citizens, prey to the energy crisis linked, among other factors, to the war in Ukraine.
