Turkey, which is seeking to reconnect with Riyadh which it needs to support its struggling economy, has apparently decided to end the case of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist murdered and dismembered in 2018 in Istanbul.
The prosecutor of the Istanbul court, before which the trial in absentia of twenty-six Saudi nationals accused of the crime has been held since 2020, asked Thursday March 31 to “close” the file and transfer it to Saudi Arabia.

The 59-year-old Saudi journalist, critic of the power of the Saudi royal family and collaborator of the washington post, was murdered and his body cut up on October 2, 2018 inside the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, where he had gone to obtain a document, according to Turkey.
