Vince, Ophelia, Leslie. These hurricanes become tropical storms passed off the European coasts and sometimes touched down. Their strong winds and torrential rains sowed death and caused a lot of damage, in Ireland and Portugal, respectively in 2017 and 2018.
However, for years, researchers have observed a tendency for cyclones to reach their maximum power at higher latitudes than before. But that does not mean that these climatic phenomena will systematically reach Europe in the coming years.
