A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of British Columbia on Tuesday, December 24, the US Geological Survey said. The quake was recorded 182 kilometers west of Port Hardy, a town of about 4,100 people northwest of Vancouver, the agency said. It was 10 kilometers deep. No tsunami is planned, said the National Tsunami Center in Alaska.
On Monday, a series of five earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 4.8 to 6.0 were recorded in British Columbia.
