Kylian Mbappé, injured Friday July 24 during the final of the Coupe de France between PSG and Saint-Etienne (1-0), suffers from a “Sprain of the right ankle with significant lesion of the external lateral compartment”, indicated his club on Saturday, without specifying the duration of his absence.
The 21-year-old striker, who has so far made a preparation full of promise, is very uncertain for the date in Portugal, which will start with a quarter-final against Atalanta Bergamo on August 12.
His diagnosis will be “Reassessed in 72 hours from a clinical and imaging point of view”, specifies the club.
Mbappé was injured by a dangerous tackle from Loïc Perrin which earned the Saint Etienne captain a red card. After going through the locker room, he reappeared with crutches and a brace on his painful ankle, to celebrate the victory in the Coupe de France.
