Footballers who left France during confinement will be able to return "without problem"

Failing to know yet if and how they can resume their way to the pitch and finish the current season, French football clubs can, at least, be satisfied with one thing: those of their players who had chosen to leave France after March 17 and the start of the confinement period may return " no problem " Agence France-Presse learned from the Ministry of the Interior.

There will be no quarantine " at this stage ", adds the ministry, while the Professional Football League (LFP) wants to resume training after May 11 and then restart Ligue 1 from June 17

The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron had raised some questions by declaring, Monday, April 13, that the borders of France with non-European countries would remain "Closed until further notice".

But, as long as they are resident in France and hold a residence permit or a long stay visa, "There is no problem to return to the territory, whatever the nationality and the provenance", said the interior ministry.

At PSG for example, Neymar and Thiago Silva returned to Brazil, Edinson Cavani in Uruguay, Keylor Navas in Costa Rica. The Brazilians of Lyon Thiago Mendes and Nice Dante also chose to return to their countries of origin.
It remains to manage the modality of the trip back to France, while air traffic is almost stopped.
