The UNSA-CFDT inter-union called a strike against the 100 or so employees of Mediapro France.

The unions of Mediapro France, a technical service provider that produces and broadcasts matches of the French football championship (Ligue 1 and Ligue 2), called on Wednesday, December 16, for a strike “Renewable” from Thursday. They intend to obtain “Explanations” by Jaume Roures, the boss of the Sino-Spanish group Mediapro, whose Téléfoot channel is about to cease its activities in rasion of the non-payment of television broadcasting rights for French competitions.

“We called a strike [puisque] our requests went unanswered to meet Mr. Roures ”, said a union source, confirming information from the sports daily The Team:

“What we want is that all employees mobilize to obtain the arrival of [Jaume] Roures, clear explanations and above all respect for the employer’s commitments to its employees. “

The UNSA-CFDT inter-union called a strike against the 100 or so employees of Mediapro France, who are supposed to produce and broadcast matches of the 16e Ligue 2 (L2) day on Friday and Saturday, as well as the 16e Ligue 1 day (L1) Saturday and Sunday. The dissemination of meetings threatened

This call to strike directly threatens the good broadcasting of these meetings while the Téléfoot channel, major broadcaster of L1 and L2 since August, is preparing to disappear in the coming weeks after an agreement for a breach of contract between the Professional Football League (LFP) and Mediapro, which did not pay its television rights due in October and December.

Regarding the possibility that the Sino-Spanish group calls on other technicians, established for example in Spain, to ensure the production of these matches, the union source assured not to have “For fear of that”.

“I don’t think they can bring back teams to do all the productions in place of local employees”, we said. “That makes teams, there is the notion of the LFP specifications to be respected at the production level, I’m not sure they have the time to master everything. “

At midday, the management of Mediapro France and Téléfoot had not reacted.
