Pilaf is a tiny 36-year-old imp who rules a giant isolated castle. He has two main followers, Shu and Mai, whom he loves to torture for their failures. Pilaf got one of the Dragon Balls and just waited for someone to arrive at his castle looking for his ball.

Why is Mai so small?
In Dragon Ball Super, she would be 10-11 years old due to her and the Pilaf Gang making that one wish to be young again. So she and Trunks would be about a year or a few months apart in age.

Shu is a short anthropomorphic Shiba-inu dog (though he is often mistaken for a fox by fans) with ginger or light brown fur covering his entire body, and a tan face and paws.

Why is Mai with Trunks?
Out of guilt and perhaps vengeance for her friends (no mention is made to my knowledge of F-Pilaf and F-Shu), Mai joined the fight, eventually falling in love with Trunks as she seems to be doing in the main timeline.
Is Bulla older than pan? Bulla’s age in comparison to Pan’s is of much inconsistency. The Dragon Ball GT: Perfect Files stated Bulla was born before Pan, thus making her older. However, in Dragon Ball Super, their birth dates were switched, placing Pan to be oldest and Bulla the youngest of the two female Saiyan hybrids.
