Irish fly-half Johnny Sexton during the Six Nations Tournament in Dublin on February 5, 2022.

The cleaver fell, but it’s not that sharp. Irishman Johnny Sexton has been suspended for three games for ” misbehavior “ during the Champions Cup final lost at the end of May by Leinster against La Rochelle. This sanction, announced on Sunday July 16 by the European professional club rugby (EPCR), the organizing body of the European cups, means that the emblematic 38-year-old opening half will be able to play in the World Cup with the Irish selection. .

“He is free to play on August 27, 2023”declares, in a press release, the EPCR, which specifies that Johnny Sexton would miss the three preparation meetings scheduled for August against Italy, England and Samoa, while the World Cup begins on September 8.

The captain of the XV of Clover was heard Thursday before an independent disciplinary commission because of his behavior towards the South African referee Jaco Peyper, at the end of the Champions Cup final lost by his province against La Rochelle on 20 last May in Dublin. Forfeited through injury, Sexton had not participated in the match but was present at the Aviva Stadium to encourage his partners.

The Disciplinary Committee found his behavior “confrontational, aggressive and disrespectful towards match officials”said the EPCR. “Particularly he pointed his finger at them and yelled something like, ‘It’s a shame you can’t make the right decisions’, probably accompanied by an expletive.”.

His last competition before retirement

His Leinster club, deemed unable to contain his player, was fined 7,500 pounds (about 8,750 euros). Sexton, Leinster and EPCR now have the opportunity to appeal this decision before Wednesday.

Operated on adductors in the spring, number 10 had to withdraw for the end of the season. On May 30, however, he appeared in the list of 42 players selected to prepare for the World Cup in France by the coach of the XV of Clover, the Englishman Andy Farrell. Sexton, 113 caps for Ireland, has long announced that the World Tournament will be his last competition before retirement.

Les Bleuets have the opportunity to make July 14 a real national holiday. The French under-20 rugby team, reigning double world champions, has the opportunity to win a third title in a row, Friday at 7 p.m., against Ireland, in Cape Town, South Africa .

The Tricolores had triumphed in 2018 and 2019 but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the holding of the following three editions. But, before intoning The Marseillaise gold medals around their necks, they will have to resist the Irish, authors of a grand slam at the last Six Nations Tournament. The XV of Clover will want to add the world crown to the “European” one won this spring.

“I don’t know if we can speak of a feeling of revenge for us, but it’s true that Ireland are the only team to have won against us this season”, says the captain of the Habs, Lenni Nouchi. On February 20 at Musgrave Park in Cork, during the second day of the Tournament, the Irish had won on the wire, 33-31, in a meeting enamelled with yellow cards (two on each side).

The French, despite five tries, failed to get the better of their opponents due to too many fouls, which allowed Leinster fly-half Sam Prendergast to pass four decisive penalties for victory final.

But Friday will be another day, wants to believe the third line of Montpellier: “They are European champions and we want to be world champions. »

“We always end well”

The coach of the Blueberries, Sébastien Calvet, renewed for this world final the team aligned against England. In the semi-finals, the Habs, led 14-24 at half-time, had managed to turn the tide on the return from the locker room to finally win by a wide margin.

“That a team puts us in difficulty, it happened to us and it will happen again, emphasizes Nouchi. The important thing is to see how we react, how we end up. However, we always end well, so for us, that’s the main thing. »

“The Irish will test us, try to put us at fault”, warns Calvet, however. But, he adds, “the strength of this group is that the players are complementary: they are both humble and, at some point, there is one who will pull the group up and appear out of nowhere”.

The coach affirms it, the Bleuets have “all the tools to worry the Irish and win” the final. In addition, a victory for the Habs against Ireland could be a great source of inspiration for the Fabien Galthié men who risk crossing paths with the men in green at the next World Cup in France, from September 8 to October 28. .

Florian Grill, during the general meeting of the FFR, July 1, 2023 in Lille.

Some predicted a “cohabitation presidency”after his election, but Florian Grill launched, Saturday 1er July, a new era for the French Rugby Federation (FFR), and felt that it “is and will be governable”. Elected on June 14 to replace Bernard Laporte – who resigned at the end of January – the new president of the FFR announced a “project over eight to ten years” during the general assembly of the body governing French rugby, in Lille.

The former president of the league of Ile-de-France, long figure of the opposition against Laporte, exposed to have “tightened” to twelve members the federal office, against sixteen previously. Among them, seven are members of his group “Ovale ensemble”, and five are from the former governance. “That’s 58% for Oval together, or the election result, that would make sense”anticipated Florian Grill last week, in an interview with Actu.fr, insisting again on its “willingness to appease” after months of stress.

Before the general assembly, Serge Simon, vice-president of the FFR and loyal to Bernard Laporte, announced Tuesday to resign from “all its functions”, in order to ” leave room “ to the new governance. “If you could sum things up in one sentence, I would say that until now I felt like part of the solution and now I feel like part of the problem”, explained the former pillar to Agence France-Presse. Elected since 2016 and the first term of Bernard Laporte, Serge Simon was vice-president in charge of high performance, and therefore as such of the French teams.

He will be replaced in this position by another former player, Jean-Marc Lhermet, Florian Grill’s right-hand man for years, who is entering the federal office, just like Abdelatif Benazzi, appointed deputy vice-president for international affairs.

A balanced budget, despite a large deficit

If Patrick Buisson, candidate beaten by Mr. Grill during the election for the presidency, also announced his departure from the federal office – retaining his place on the steering committee (40 members) – all the former leaders of the he team in place until mid-June did not do the same. Former treasurer of the FFR, Alexandre Martinez, appointed interim president after the resignation of Laporte at the end of January, accepted the hand extended by the new president, and was responsible for finalizing the 2023 World Cup (September 8-October 28). ) in France, to complete this project, won by the former team.

“I reject this term of opposition, like that of majority or cohabitation. It’s too politicizedFlorian Grill insisted this week. It’s not like we’re light years apart. On many subjects, I subscribe to a certain form of continuity in the level of reforms already voted. »

If the provisional budget voted at the general meeting of the FFR (and approved by 79%) is in balance, the leader of French rugby has highlighted a particularly high deficit. “There are operating losses of around 13 million euros”, noted Florian Grill. A hole filled by the ” exceptional result “ linked to the entry of the CVC investment fund into the capital of the Six Nations Committee (also 13 million). “I would rather CVC money be used to invest rather than pay off debts”he underlined, believing that it will be ” essestial “ for the FFR of “find new sources of funding” before presenting a “revised budget” in December.

Wishing to see rugby, the second sport with the most media coverage in France but only in tenth position at the level of licensees (324,326 in May 2023), develop further, the new president assured to be “in the process of building a project over eight to ten years”, integrating more territorial networking and the transformation of the FFR into a “mission federation”in order to “to attract new volunteers”. In just over two months, the World Cup on French soil could serve as the first revealer.

A new international rugby competition between the nations of the southern hemisphere and those of the north will see the light of day in 2026, announced on Saturday 1er July the Six Nations committee and the Sanzaar, which manages competitions in the southern hemisphere. It will take place in July and November. every two years “outside the years of the World Cup, and will replace the traditional test matches and tours between these countries, specify the two organizations in a joint press release.

This new meeting bringing together “the elite” world rugby will bring together all the teams of the Six Nations Tournament (France, England, Scotland, Italy, Wales and Ireland) and Sanzaar (Argentina, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa), “with two places reserved for federations by invitation to join the group of the southern hemisphere”.

The well-being of the players as a “priority”

A selection process ” transparent “ will be managed by the Sanzaar, with the support of World Rugby and the International Rugby Players, to determine these two guest nations, explains the press release. Two groups of six teams will then be formed, and will play matches ” go “ in July and ” feedback “ in November.

The International Rugby Players Union “has been involved at every stage of the development of this new competition”, assure the two entities, while criticism around too heavy schedules are more and more present. The organizations ensure that ” to guarantee (…) the welfare of the players remains a fundamental priority in all decision-making.”.

To strengthen the development of emerging nations, “World Rugby will create a second tier competition that will welcome teams from Europe and the rest of the world”, they add. Eventually, the establishment of these two competitions will pave the way for “promotion and relegation matches” between the two divisions.

French international rugby player Mohamed Haouas and his lawyer during his trial at the Montpellier courthouse on May 12, 2023.

Rugby player Mohamed Haouas, ex-player of Montpellier and the XV of France, was sentenced on Friday June 30 to eighteen months in prison, nine of which are closed, for “aggravated violence”.

This is a separate case from that for which he was sentenced on May 30 to one year in prison (for violence committed against his wife). The facts with which he was charged in this new decision date back to 1er January 2014, when he took part, under the influence of alcohol, in a violent fight in a bakery. A brawl had pitted him and a dozen friends against the owner of a nightclub.

This new conviction of the pillar makes possible an incarceration of the player, according to his lawyer, Marc Gallix. The decision itself “is not harsh”because “we can see that he is the most virulent of all, that he deals very violent blows” during this fight, admitted Mr.e Gallix. “But the sentences can only be adjusted up to one year in prison. If we add today’s nine months firm to the twelve months for domestic violence, if I do not appeal and the sentence becomes final, he is incarcerated.continued the player’s lawyer, absent at the hearing on Friday.

Marc Gallix has therefore announced his intention to appeal so that his client can first serve his twelve-month prison sentence in a modified form while the Court of Appeal renders its conclusions.

Mohamed Haouas and his lawyer spoke on Monday with the sentencing judge, who must decide in the fall on the form of his conviction for domestic violence. He could be forced to wear an electronic bracelet or be placed in “parental parole”according to his lawyer, Mohamed Haouas being the father of two young children and breadwinner.

This second option, probably accompanied by a psychological follow-up and an awareness course on domestic violence, is “preferable” to that involving the wearing of an electronic bracelet, because it would allow the 29-year-old player to“doing one’s job”explained M.e Gallix.

The rest of his very uncertain career

The career of Mohamed Houas is precisely uncertain, even if he won a first legal victory on Monday June 26. The industrial tribunal has, in fact, dismissed, in summary proceedings, the ASM Clermont Auvergne club of its request to suspend the employment contract of the pillar, who had been recruited by the Auvergne club before the acts of violence against his wife and was to join the team at 1er July.

At the hearing, the club’s lawyer claimed that ASM had been “cheated” by the player and the Montpellier club: “This is not the profile we hired”while Mr. Haouas has a duty to “respect the ethical and deontological criteria of French rugby”. Mohamed Haouas is not “not a product but a rugby player” to which “we want to ban working and feeding our families”, had replied the advice of Mohamed Haouas. On this subject, a hearing on the merits must take place in September.

Following the violent attack on his wife, Mohamed Haouas had not been summoned by the coach of the France team, Fabien Galthié, for the World Cup which begins in France in September.

Antoine Dupont during the Top 14 final, at the Stade de France (Seine-Saint-Denis), on June 17, 2023.

He’s a little tired, Antoine Dupont. And he admits it with all the humility and frankness that characterize him. Coming to “coach” handpicked railway workers this Friday, June 23, at the company’s premises behind Montparnasse station, the best rugby player in the world, 26, confesses: “I haven’t done much of a full night since Saturday [finale du Top 14, où son club, le Stade toulousain, a battu in extremis le Stade rochelais]. We had to celebrate that. »

And then the holidays are approaching: the captain of the XV of France will leave for the sun before finding the players pre-selected to participate in the Rugby World Cup from July 2 in Monaco. But before his departure, he came to fulfill the obligations he accepted by becoming in March “ambassador of the SNCF and the railway workers”.

The company is well known to rugby players, since it is also an official sponsor of the world competition. And he loves the train: “To go to see matches, go on vacation or with the youth teams on the move, the SNCF is a component of my best memories. » The return trip from the match on Saturday, June 17 is obviously part of it.

“The Power of Concentration”

What does an ambassador bring to the company? First, he makes his CEO radiate happiness. Among the railway workers who took part in a competition – that of the best photo by team of five, mixing SNCF and rugby -, Jean-Pierre Farandou, an oval ball in his hands, bends to the game of selfies and confides: “My memories of rugby, including when I was a child, are very clear, very precise. It is undoubtedly the strength of concentration that is needed when you are the target of all the attacks but you want to move forward anyway. Rugby makes me happy right away. »

The second obligation is to lend your voice to the sound announcements. Antoine Dupont therefore goes to the operational center of Montparnasse to register those who will pass during the World Cup. It rather amuses him. He hums “Pa-daddy-paaam” and launches. And it also lends itself to the game of strolling on a green screen to be transformed… into a hologram that we may see in train stations. He will also soon see his image adorning the TGV engines.

The third duty is to pass on the secrets of his energy and mental strength to the railroad workers. Yet there is neither potion nor magic word. How does number 9 turn a game around? “I’m quite dependent on the eight in front of me”, he replies. What are the ingredients for collective success? “You need talent – you don’t make a racehorse out of a donkey – a good staff and you need a binder; that’s the hardest part, that guys want to surpass themselves for each other. » And then : “Work, work… and passion. »

At the headquarters of the French Rugby Federation, on November 11, 2020, during a gathering of the France team.

The French Rugby Federation (FFR) is the subject of an extortion attempt following a computer attack. This cyberattack, which took place on the night of Wednesday June 7 to Thursday June 8, “mainly affected mail servers”, announced the federation in a press release, while specifying that it has since “secured the entire system and restored its operation”.

The FFR was the victim of a ransomware attack, malicious software that infiltrates and paralyzes a computer network before its leaders demand a ransom. A group of hackers, known as “Play”, claimed responsibility for the attack on its website on Wednesday June 21 and is now threatening to publish the information stolen during the attack if a ransom is not paid.

“The FFR has not received a ransom demand to date and will not wish to respond to it if necessary” warned the rugby body in its press release.

This attack and this blackmail fall particularly badly for the FFR, just a few days after Florian Grill, its new president, took office. In addition, the federation is preparing to organize its annual congress and general assembly next week in Lille. The hackers plan to release the documents two days before that deadline. And that’s not counting the Rugby World Cup, which is to be held in France from September and for which the French team, which is to meet from July 2 in Monaco, is one favorites.

An attack of a scale to be determined

Gray areas remain concerning this attack, in particular on the exact nature of the data recovered by the hackers. The messaging having been targeted, it is probably correspondence sent and received by the FFR. The latter specifies that she has tackled “to research and analyze data that may have been exfiltrated as part of this attack, including emails, contacts and calendar information”. A task complicated by the fact that “the activity history of part of the mailboxes” attacked could not be recovered. In its press release, the instance does not specify either the period covered by the possibly stolen data.

A bluff is not to be excluded from the pirates. Some groups of cybercriminals do not hesitate to exaggerate the amount of information they have managed to recover in the hope of pushing the victim to the negotiating table.

Ransomware has become the main threat to digital crime in recent years. The groups that implement them rely on a complex criminal ecosystem, where groups responsible for compromising and infiltrating networks resell access to compromised systems to blackmailers, causing waves of victims. It is therefore very likely that the FFR was not specifically targeted and that the concomitance of the attack with the World Cup or the election of the new president of the body is purely fortuitous.

The “Play” group appeared in the plethora of ransomware cybercriminal groups a year ago, specializing in attacks against messaging systems. This gang has notably targeted the Alpes-Maritimes department, the Spanish bank Globalcaja, the software publisher Xplain or the company Rackspace.

The hacking of the FFR was, as required by law since personal data were compromised, declared to the National Commission for Computing and Liberties (CNIL), further specifies the federation, which adds to be “contact with the police”without specifying whether a complaint had been filed.

Toulouse's Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack (with the ball), during the France-Wales match, in Saint-Denis, March 18, 2023.

This is the beginning of the path that should lead the French rugby team to the World Cup, which it will play at home from September 8. The coach, Fabien Galthié, unveiled on Wednesday June 21 an initial list of 42 players summoned to begin this preparation, from July 2, in Monaco.

This list will be refined over the returns from injuries of certain players, who are not currently on the list, and the various training courses planned. The final World Cup roster, which will feature 33 players, will be announced on August 21.

This first list, which does not include any notable surprises, is a continuation of the choices made by the coach since his arrival at the helm of the XV of France, at the end of 2019. There are several categories:

The people of Toulouse

Just crowned with the glory of their 22e title of champion of France, a contingent of Toulouse residents will join Marcoussis. For many seasons, the Pink City club has been the leading provider of the XV of France and constitutes the backbone of its “typical” team. Starting with the hinge, so important, that forms Antoine Dupont And Romain Ntamack. But also a good part of the first line, Cyril Baille (left pillar) and Julien Marchand (hooker), among the best in the world at their post. Or the second line Thibaud Flamentrevelation of the last Six Nations Tournament, the third line Francois Cros or the back Thomas Ramos.

The unavoidable

That they were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Top 14, like the center of Racing 92 Gael Fickouor defeated in the final as the third center line Gregory Alldrittthe right pillar Uini Atonio and the center Jonathan Danty, all three from La Rochelle; these players are among the first names that Fabien Galthié and his staff write down to form the starting XV.

Players who did not participate in the final stages of the Top 14 are also among the expected starters, on September 8 during the opening match against New Zealand: Damian Penaudthe Clermont winger leaving for Bordeaux, or Charles Ollivon, the third line of the Toulon Rugby club. In the absence of certainty on the wing, it is not surprising to see the Lyonnais Ethan Dumortierholder in the five games of the last Tournament, appear on the list.

“Finishing” stainless steels

A certain number of players should not, except surprise or exception, be holders of entry. But they will be called upon to make important replacements – as “finishers”, as the official name for the Blues dictates –, or even to take a starting place in the event of injury or in the last group matches, where the stake will be, if all goes well for the Blues, less important. Like the Toulouse hooker Peato Mauvakaaccustomed to thundering replacements, the Bordelais Maxime Lucu (scrum half), official understudy of Antoine Dupont, or Matthew Jalibert (flying half, Bordeaux), essential replacement for Romain Ntamack.

The powerfull Romain Taofifénua (second row, Lyon) could play a starting role if Australian-born Toulousain Emmanuel Meafou – injured in the final – cannot be selected with the Blues and if Paul Willemse does not regain its form of 2022. Dorian Aldegheri (pillar, Toulouse) rose this season within the hierarchy of the right pillars, thanks to his performances, but also the disqualification of Mohamed Haouas, convicted of violence and dismissed from the XV of France.

Yoram Moefana (center, Bordeaux), Sekou Macalou (third row, Stade Français), Jean-Baptiste Gros (pillar, Toulon), Pierre Bourgarit (hooker, La Rochelle) and Reda Wardi (pillar, La Rochelle) are also part of the “luxury” finishers present in this group.

Those who play big

Some players are under pressure before this first rally. They were potential, even indisputable holders, but have regressed somewhat in the choices of Fabien Galthié. We can think of the Toulouse back Melvyn Jaminet, and on the second line Cameron Wokivery successful in 2022, but author of a more complicated season with his new club, Racing 92.

Baptiste Couilloudthe scrum half from Lyon, will be in direct competition with Baptiste Serin for the place of third scrum half in the list of 33. Dylan Cretin (third line, Lyon) will face intense competition for his position. As for the future ofAntoine Hastoy (opening half, La Rochelle), it will undoubtedly depend on the distribution of the number of three-quarters and forwards retained in the list of 33 players for the month of August.

Ghosts

Arthur Vincent (center, Montpellier) and Gabin Villiere (winger, Toulon) are coming back from long injuries and retain a lot of credit in the eyes of Fabien Galthié.

Register

Among the players who have not seen the XV of France for some time, Demba Bamba (pillar, Lyon), Brice Dulin (back, La Rochelle), Baptist Serin (scrum half, Toulon) are back – the last two having had a very good end to the season.

Novices

Four promising players without selection for the moment have been called up in this list: Emilien Gailletonthe top scorer of the Top 14 season (centre, Pau), Louis Bielle-Biarrey (winger, Bordeaux), Paul Boudehent (third line, La Rochelle) and Thomas Laclayat (pillar, departing from Oyonnax, in the second division, for Racing 92).

Linings

They will not see, except surprise, the World Cup. But they are among those who will play a crucial role in the preparation, in particular by allowing the staff of the XV of France to simulate opposition with complete teams. And their presence in the list attests to their proximity to the required level. So, if there is an injury or an unexpected malform, they can play their card. It is Bastien Chalureau (second line, Montpellier), Yoan Tanga (third line, La Rochelle) and Florian Verhaeghe (second line, Montpellier).

The wounded

Several players, including some essential in the eyes of the coach, are currently on the flank, but should, if their recovery takes place in time, make their way to the final list. This is in particular the third line of the Stade Toulousain Anthony Jelonch (seriously injured during the Six Nations Tournament, but whose recovery is going well) or the Bordeaux right prop Sipili Falateahit in the knee during the semi-final of the Top 14.

Finally, there remains the case ofEmmanuel Meafou. The Toulouse colossus was injured in the final, and will be out for six to eight weeks. To this physical uncertainty is added another. On paper, the player of Australian origin will only be eligible for the XV of France from November, but the management of the Blues hopes to take advantage of case law from the world rugby body. The latter’s response should be forthcoming.

Antoine Dupont facing his Blues teammate Grégory Alldritt, during the Top 14 final, Saturday June 17, 2023, between Toulouse and La Rochelle, at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis.

IThe staff of the XV of France can store their candles. During the Top 14 final, won by the wire by the Stade Toulouse of Romain Ntamack, Saturday June 17 at the Stade de France (29-26), the French management did not have to take bad news. While the duel between the Rouge et Noir and Stade La Rochelais delivered the merciless fight expected, it was not punctuated by injuries to one of the many French internationals – nine at kick-off – who played in the match. A good omen two weeks before the start of the preparation for the World Cup on French soil (from September 8 to October 28).

“We are watching the end of the season carefully”stated the coach of the tricolor attack, Laurent Labit, in mid-May, during the gathering of the French staff in Montgesty (Lot). “We worked a lot on the methodology, on the content, on everything we were going to do, in the preparation, etc., but for the moment, we can only pray. »

In the sport of confrontation that is rugby, it is impossible to predict with certainty that its players will emerge unscathed from high-intensity encounters; the Bordeaux pillar of the Blues, Sipili Falatea, absent for six to eight weeks after injuring his knee in the semi-finals of the Top 14, came to call him back a week ago. “As soon as there is one on the ground, it is very hard in front of the television”conceded Laurent Labit.

On land, the Rochelais were after the siren on Saturday, and the stab – magnificent – inflicted by Romain Ntamack in the dying minutes, a solo try allowing the Toulouse to go back to the lead. And to win the twenty-second title in their history, where La Rochelle is running after its first Brennus shield. “This kid has a character! Him, he may be able to make us become world champions ”greeted his trainer, Ugo Mola, dithyrambic, at the microphone of Canal +.

A title each, but Rochelais regrets to tame

Since Fabien Galthié and his team at the helm of the XV of France took office in 2019, the World Cup in France in the fall of 2023 has been the stated objective. In less than three months, Romain Ntamack and his partners will be back on the lawn of the Stade de France, to open the ball for the World Cup against the New Zealand All Blacks.

But the players had one last dance with their respective clubs, before waiting for the list of forty-two selected for the first part of the preparation for the World Cup (unveiled on Wednesday June 21). ” We [les clubs] gave a lotfor the XV of France, insisted Ugo Mola on Friday. We will take care of us until 11 p.m. and then wish good luck to our selected ones. »

The joy of Toulouse after Romain Ntamack's try, at the very end of the final between Stade Toulouse and Stade Rochelais, Saturday June 17, 2023, at the Stade de France.

When Antoine Dupont and Charlie Faumuina, players from Stade Toulousain, raised the shield of Brennus towards the sky of Saint-Denis, Saturday June 17, it was more than a trophy that they presented to their supporters who came by the thousands to the Stade de France. It was the tangible proof, in wood and metal, of what still separates their club, a legend of French rugby, from La Rochelle, their disappointed opponents of the evening.

By registering, with this victory (29-26), for the twenty-second time its name on the trophy which rewards the winner of the French rugby championship, the Toulouse stadium deprived the Rochelais of the first Brennus in their history and of a historic double after their second European title.

Stade Toulousain also cast the same spell on La Rochelle that they had concocted at Leinster, in the European Cup final, winning (27-26) at the last second. “It’s hard to lose this way, but you win two titles like that, you also have to know how to be on the other side”, commented the third row from La Rochelle Grégory Alldritt. And like in Dublin, history seemed written. The La Rochelle forwards had imposed their law and neutralized the Toulouse flights. The Maritimes led by four points with only a handful of seconds remaining. The players in yellow and black began to embrace on the edge of the field, while Toulouse’s final attacks broke on the La Rochelle defense like waves on a stormy day.

“A game lasts 80 minutes. I learned when I played against Toulouse that a game is never over, To recalled, disappointed, the La Rochelle coach, Ronan O’Gara, after the match. Unfortunately, we made a bad decision at the end, but congratulations to Romain Ntamack, what a player! » A bad decision in defense, indeed well helped by the inspiration of Romain Ntamack. After he had just been treated for a long time for a sore shoulder, the opening half of Stade Toulouse and the French team erased in three elegant strides several La Rochelle defenders, who watched him, helpless, spinning head high towards the ‘essay. The Toulouse, after the transformation of Thomas Ramos, were three points ahead and both hands on the shield. “We are carrying out a small robbery”recognized Ugo Mola, the Toulouse coach, at the microphone of Canal +, before confessing “hesitating to go out [Ntamack], almost KO »a few minutes earlier.

A mistake that could have been costly
