Iowa Democrat Party President Troy Price resigned Wednesday, February 12 "Unacceptable" the chaos in the publication of the results after the February 3 poll, which ultimately gave victory to ex-moderate mayor Pete Buttigieg just ahead of independent senator Bernie Sanders.

For this election, Troy Price and his party had put in place new rules supposed to ensure more transparency and greater efficiency in voting. But a bug in a new mobile application deployed by the party blocked any rise in results, causing a real fiasco on election night.

"The process did not work"

"Under threats, mockery and anger from around the world, our teams have worked" under "Immense pressure to produce a complete report of the results and managed to do so within 72 hours", wrote Troy Price in his letter of resignation. He claims that the "Caucus" have worked well and that "Democrats of all origins have come together behind the same goal of beating Donald Trump", during the presidential election of November 3.

"However, there is no doubt that the process for reporting the results did not work. It’s just unacceptable. ”, he admits. "I believe it is time for the Iowa Democratic Party to start looking to the future, and my presence in this position makes this more difficult", wrote the outgoing leader of the party. Democratic leaders in Iowa will meet on Saturday to choose an interim president.
