Republicans are already disillusioned. They who believed to put in difficulty the governor of California, Gavin Newsom – and by extension the “socialists” of Washington -, a year before the midterm elections in 2022, will be brought to revise their plans.
Nothing is going as they hoped. The campaign of recall (“Impeachment”) of the Democratic governor of the Golden State is not very committed.
Caitlyn Jenner, 71, missed her entry. The reality TV star of the Kardashian galaxy, transgender icon, ex-Olympic athlete, wanted to repeat the feat of his friend Arnold Schwarzenegger, the body-building champion who had succeeded, in 2003, in dethroning Democratic Governor Gray Davis.
The parallel was tempting. Like the “Terminator,” Caitlyn, a lifelong Republican, is an arch-media celebrity. Under the name Bruce Jenner, she won the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, in one of the most grueling events: the decathlon. Forty years later, at age 65, she revealed her new identity. The cover of Vanity Fair, in June 2015, where she posed for Annie Leibovitz in a 1950s bustier swimsuit, went down in Hollywood annals. Title of the “one”: “Call me Caitlyn. “
But it is not “Schwarzy” who wants. At the time, the California economy was in recession. And the actor was not quite new to politics. He had made himself known through a campaign to develop extracurricular activities in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Mostly, he was a member of the Kennedy dynasty (his wife, whom he has since divorced, was Maria Shriver, the niece of John, Bob and Teddy Kennedy). In other words, a Republican likely to seduce the Californian Democrats.

With the Jenners, the family is more complicated. Until their separation in 2013, the wife of the athlete was Kris Jenner, the mother of starlets with names in K (Kim, Khloé, Kourtney …) already divorced from O’s lawyer. J. Simpson, Robert Kardashian.
To date, Caitlyn Jenner has not shone with her political sense. On May 5, she opened her campaign with an interview with conservative Fox News. Donald Trump would have applauded. Installed in the aircraft hangar at her Malibu mansion, she was alarmed at the number of homeless people in California. Moreover, one of his neighbors, no longer supporting the spectacle of the declassification of Los Angeles, had decided to transport his private planes to Sedona (Arizona); in twenty-four hours, the remark had been seen five million times on Twitter.
